The Medical Division of Chatham House (Pvt) Ltd has been involved in the field of healthcare for over three decades. Building on our key competencies in this sphere, our core area of engagement is the supply of surgical, therapeutic and diagnostic products and equipment in the fields of Gastroenterology, Peripheral Intervention, Interventional Radiology, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Surgery and Critical Care, to hospitals in both the government and private sectors of the country.
In Sri Lanka, we pioneered the launch and distribution of the Holmium Laser Machine for the fragmentation of kidney stones (manufactured by world renown Convergent Laser Technologies-USA), and the PillCam Capsule Endoscopy System & Reflux and Manometry equipment (manufactured by GIVEN IMAGING - lsrael, ranked among the top x organizations in the world for this product category).
We were also the first company to supply Culture Media and connected equipment to the various specialized laboratories and hospitals, to carry out In-Vitro Fertilization procedures (lVF) in Sri Lanka.

The Engineering Division of Chatham House (Pvt) Ltd has since the inception of the company, secured some of the major government infrastructure development projects in Sri Lanka funded by agencies such as KFW, World Bank and the Asian Development Bank (ADB), in association with its Principals. The first large scale business undertaking was the supply and installation of generators and associated equipment for the augmentation of the electricity supply to the city of Colombo in February 1948, to coincide with the celebrations to mark Sri Lanka's independence from Britain.
Since then the company has, in collaboration with key stakeholders, been involved in major infrastructure development projects such as the execution of the Laxapana Hydro Electric Scheme Stage II B, supply of earth moving equipment for the Gal Oya Multi Purpose Project, supply of 30 Power Coaches to the Sri Lanka Railways, installation and commissioning of Hydro-Mechanical Equipment for the Randenigala 60MW Hydo Power Project, supply, installation and commissioning of two 40MW Diesel Power Stations at Sapugaskande and the supply, installation and commissioning machinery to the Textile Mills at Thulhiriya, Veyangoda and Mattegama, and two Paper Mills in Valachchenai and Embilipitiya.
With the introduction Net Metering to Sri Lanka by the Power utilities, Chatham House too diversified into the area of solar energy and is a Company approved by the Sustainable Energy Authority of Sri Lanka. Following a government competitive tender process by the Lanka Electricity Company Ltd (LECO), Chatham House was also selected in 2013 as the preferred provider to be registered with LECO to provide solar energy solutions to the LECO consumer base. We currently function as distributors in Sri Lanka for BYD of China and Santerno of Italy. We also provide total German solar solutions using solar panels, inverters and racking systems manufactured by Solarwatt GmbH, Stecca GmbH and Schletter GmbH, respectively.
